Construction work on Peterhed Powerstation started in 1973 with work completed in 1978 and commissioning happening in 1980. This multi unit station currently owned by SSE (Scottish & Southern Energy) has a total capacity of 2,177mw.
Located between Peterhead and Boddam this fire station is able to burn oil and gas supplied by St Fergus Oil and Gas Terminal.
