Former Police Scotland / Grampian Police - Queen Street HQ - 15th March 2026
Built in the early 1970s for the formation of the Grampian Police in 1975 this force head quarters served Grampian Police until 2013 when all 8 regional police forces formed a single
force called Police Scotland.
Police Scotland Aberdeen continued to operate out of these offices until in October 2020 it was announced that it was set to close and move all 500 staff to other stations in the area
and for the public counter to move to Marischal College. It finally closed in 2021.
in 2022 it was announced that Police Scotland had sold its parts of the Queen Street offices back to the local authority Aberdeen City Council as a mortuary and the Scottish Courts
and Tribunal Service had remained onsite operational.
In February 2026 the local news paper reported that the 7 story building was set to be demolished along with 3 additional connected building with planning permission submitted to
Aberdeen City Council for the works but not yet granted.
It stated that the works to demolish the buildings would come in at a whopping £2.51m to make way for the proposed Queen Street Development.
