Aberdeen Football Club - Pittodrie Stadium - 7th March 2026
Pittodrie Stadium home to Aberdeen Football Club which was formed in 1903 after the merger of two local clubs sits near the City Centre and the Beach.
With an official capacity of 20,866 it is the forth largest stadium in the SPFL and became the UK's first all seater stadium in 1978 and where the Dugout was invented by Donald
Colman. The stadium announced in 2020 that operationally the capacity would be reduced to 15,500 but slow increasing to full capacity as time has gone on.
The latest stadium built was at the beach end in the 1992-93 season for the clubs longest serving chairman Richard Donald, known as the "Dick Donald Stand" it was officially opened in
1993 by Princess Anne.
While there have been long running discussion regarding a new stadium at Kingsford or the beachfront the club has stated it remains committed to Pittodrie for the "foreseeable future"
with ongoing investments planned for the existing site.
