Beach Leisure Centre Swimming Pool

After 3 years since Sport Aberdeen announced the closure of the Swimming Pool complex due to rising energy costs and reduced funding from Aberdeen City Council demolition work is well on its way.

First opening in 1989 the Swimming Pool, Flumes and Gym facilities served the Aberdeen City for 35 years.

I've not flown or posted for pretty much 3 years and felt that due to my own childhood memories of going with friends, family and even school trips I wanted to at least capture a few last pictures of my own.

I admit I didn't use the facilities much since grown up but with my own wee three year old girl I know we would have now.

Hope you enjoy, not bad for a 10 year old drone and hope to do more in the near future.

Visit Three - Demolition (Part 3 of 3)

Latest batch of pictures from a visit made to the ongoing demolition works happening at the Beach Leisure Swimming Pool.

The pool, gym and sports halls are completely gone with what appears to be only the front of house, changing areas and the stairwell to the water slides left.

Clearly they will break for the holidays but would expect everything to be completed by end of January at the rate they are going.
